A broad low pressure area over the central Gulf of Mexico has a 70% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.
"Conditions appear conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the next day or two," the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
