(Reuters) - A low pressure system located off Nicaragua has a 40-percent chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday.
"This system is expected to produce locally heavy rainfall over the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and portions of Cuba during the next day or two," the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
