A low pressure system located over the northwestern Bahamas has a 40% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Friday.
"A tropical depression could form while this system moves slowly west-northwestward over the eastern Gulf of Mexico this weekend and early next week," the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
