A Gungahlin woman has been charged with drug trafficking following an overnight police operation.

The woman, 33, was arrested after 90 grams of methylamphetamine, also known as the drug 'ice', along with $8000 in cash was found at her home in Ngunnawal on Monday night.

The 33-year-old had been under investigation after a traffic incident in Fraser on February 29.

Police discovered cash and methylamphetamine in her bag at the time of the incident.

Investigations into the woman continued for several weeks, culminating in police searching her vehicle in Dickson and her Ngunnawal home on Monday.

She was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of crime, negligent driving, drug driving and breaching and a good behaviour order.

She will appear before ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police will oppose bail.
