NOIDA: Five people, including the chairman, trustee and founder of an NGO, the technical head and three others, were booked for allegedly pulling off a fraud of lakhs of rupees by duping several youths from UP and Bihar with the promise of school jobs.
Under the name of Ayushmaan Bharat Yoga Avam Khel Kood Prashikshan Sansthan, the gang had floated ads on Facebook and the website of the National Career Service of 2,276 ‘vacancies’ for yoga and sports teachers in government and private schools across UP in January 2020. Several youths had claimed each of them was charged over Rs 1.5 lakh and even underwent training at a Rishikesh resort, for jobs that didn’t exist. Some were given offer letters for private schools, which denied any association with the NGO.
After an inquiry was completed by ACP Abdul Qadir, an FIR was lodged on Monday against Damodar Sharma, Sanjay Chaudhary, Saad Abbassi and Vineet Gupta under relevant Indian Penal Code sections.
