AGARTALA: The first campus of National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in the northeast here has opened admission in four courses with the intake capacity of 40 each for this session, said NFSU vice chancellor Prof JM Vyas on Tuesday.
Classes will be held on the campus of the old BEd College, he said.
A four-member delegation of Gujarat-based NFSU led by Prof Vyas arrived here on a two-day visit to the state to see the progress of campus development work and review the administrative and academic facilities to start the courses. Vyas said the Tripura government has allotted around 70 acres of land in Srinagar for setting up the permanent campus of NFSU. The ministry of home affairs has allocated Rs 100 crore for Tripura NFSU campus development in the next three years.
Along with a five-year integrated course of BSc, MSc in forensic science, NFSU has offered admission for a two-year masters course in forensic science, digital forensic and information security and cyber security on the Agartala campus in the session scheduled to begin from January next year.
