NFLPA contacts NFL after Browns fan sprays Titans players with beer

The actions of an angry Cleveland Browns fan in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans have not gone unnoticed.

Shortly after Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler returned one of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield’s passes for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, an opposing fan threw beer on several Titans players.

Cornerback Logan Ryan didn’t take kindly to the gesture, tagging the NFL Players’ Association in a tweet. He also tagged the official accounts of the league and both teams.

Shortly after, the organization replied and is taking action.

Ryan had more to say on the incident in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“In this day and age it’s ridiculous,” he said. “I understand that we play football. I understand that we’re modern-day gladiators. I understand that fans feel like they can yell and say and degrade, whatever, but you know, we’re human beings.”

It will be interesting to see how the ordeal ultimately shakes out, but it looks like the wheels are in motion for Ryan and the other players involved to get justice.
