NFL writer Adam Rank thinks Seahawks should draft CB Byron Murphy

NFL writer Adam Rank submitted what he called a mock draft with a twist, choosing not to predict what he thought teams would do but rather what he believed they should do.

For the Seattle Seahawks, instead of trading down, Rank suggested they draft University of Washington cornerback Byron Murphy.

Murphy has been mocked to Seattle a handful of times this offseason. He lacks the size that Pete Carroll tends to pursue in his defensive backs, although his style of play and absurd athleticism, not to mention high football IQ, make him an intriguing target to help overhaul Seattle’s secondary with the Legion of Boom officially out of town.

Of course, Seattle is more likely to trade down in the draft as a way to acquire more picks – since they only have four this year.

Should they choose to keep their selection at No. 21 overall, Murphy would be one of many solid players for the Seahawks to bring in.
