OXNARD, Calif. _ The Dallas Cowboys are hoping to wear the "Arm in Arm" decals they unveiled on Saturday during preseason games.
Executive vice president Stephen Jones said the NFL will not allow them to wear them during the regular season, but the team has asked for permission to do it in the preseason. The decal will be on the helmets all of training camp.
"We just got approval for camp and the debate was whether we should do it for preseason or not," Jones said. "They're trying to decide on that."
The league must approve any decal of this nature, and Jones said: "We respect the league's policies."
The Cowboys unveiled the decal during a ceremony with Dallas city and police officials, as well as family members from the four of the five slain police officers during a shooting last month.
Cowboys players and coaches described the event to show a sign of "unity."
