Week 8 is off to a wild start.
It’s not just that the depleted Green Bay Packers, playing without Davante Adams, Jaire Alexander, Za’Darius Smith, Josh Myers and Allen Lazard beat the previously-undefeated Arizona Cardinals. It’s not that they got this done on a night where Aaron Rodgers took such an egregious late hit it turned him into a meme. It’s not that they strolled into Glendale and gave Kliff Kingsbury his only loss of the season.
It’s that they won after getting stuffed at the goal line, giving up what was nearly a 99-yard game-losing drive, and then getting bailed out when AJ Green’s controller disconnected and a cornerback Green Bay signed off the street in October played hero.

How can Sunday follow that? Uh, with a Philadelphia Eagles-Detroit Lions game and a primetime contest that may feature heavy doses of Cooper Rush. Week 8 isn’t big on marquee matchups, but it does have a handful of interesting games on the fringes of the playoff race.
