The Rams are favored in a game for just the second time this season as they travel across the country to take on the Washington Football Team on Sunday afternoon. The spread sits at Rams -7, which is lower than it was to start the week when Dwayne Haskins was still presumed to be the starter.
Even with Kyle Allen taking over at quarterback, the experts are still leaning heavily toward the Rams. That should come as no surprise, despite the Rams narrowly beating the Giants last week, 17-9.
According to NFL Pick Watch, which curates picks from experts around the internet, a whopping 98% of pundits are taking the Rams to win outright. Only four other games in Week 5 have more lopsided pick discrepancies than Rams-Washington.
Among those taking L.A. to win are Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY, Matt Bowen of ESPN, Sam Farmer of the L.A. Times and Nathan Jahnke of PFF.
When it comes to the spread, 80% are taking the Rams to cover. That’s the second-largest number of Week 5, with 83% of experts picking the Cardinals to cover against the Jets. That shows a great deal of confidence that the Rams will not only win, but win by at least a touchdown on Sunday.
