NFL Week 5: Buccaneers return unsold tickets for Saints game

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned unsold tickets for their Week 5 game against the New Orleans Saints, creating a last-minute opportunity for fans to grab a seat inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Fans can purchase tickets in person at the Saints box office or by following this link.

Each of the Saints home games at the Superdome have sold out this year, with crowds in excess of 70,000 fans on hand to see their team defeat the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. Estimations that last week’s stands would be a near-even split between visiting Cowboys fans and Saints faithful ended up being far from the truth, and Sunday’s game figures to feature similar crowd support for the home team.

The Saints lead the all-time series history (33-21), but the Buccaneers won a barn-burner in their last visit to New Orleans. Then-backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick won a barn-burner, though he’ll be replaced by the shaky starter in Jameis Winston this time around. Winston has thrown his second-most career interceptions to (6) and taken the second-most sacks from (16) the Saints defense, trailing only the Carolina Panthers (who he has played 8 times, with just 7 matchups against New Orleans). They’ll have a chance to catch up on Oct. 6.
