It’s New Orleans Saints gameday, with a much-anticipated kickoff against the Los Angeles Rams on deck. This will be the latest game in a series of recent matchups between the Saints and Rams; including this kickoff and a 2018 preseason game, it will be their sixth meeting since the 2016 season.
The field will be littered with star players like Saints quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Michael Thomas, running back Alvin Kamara, and defensive end Cameron Jordan. On the other end, the Rams boast big names like defensive tackle Aaron Donald, wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, and defensive backs Aqib Talib and Eric Weddle.
Rams quarterback Jared Goff will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing Week 1 performance against the Carolina Panthers. Over his last two outings (that opening-day Panthers game and Super Bowl LIII), Goff has completed just 42 of his 77 pass attempts (54%) to gain 415 yards (5.3 yards per attempt), throwing one touchdown pass against two interceptions. He signed a $134 million contract extension on Sept. 6.
