NFL Twitter explodes over Patrick Mahomes getting a reported 10-year extension

In the middle of a whole lot of uncertainty, there’s one thing that just got locked in until the next decade.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs are giving Patrick Mahomes a 10-year extension (!!) that will run through the 2031 season. He added that it’s tacked on to the end of Mahomes’ two remaining years.

The terms haven’t been released as of publishing this post — so what’s the signing bonus? Guarantees? Will there be an opt-out? — but you can imagine Mahomes is about to make A LOT of money.
