NFL to clamp down on controversial tactic after admitting error

  • The NFL has admitted that the Philadelphia Eagles should have been penalised for a false start during a 'tush push' play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.
  • Ramon George, the NFL's vice president of officiating training and development, identified the missed call involving Eagles right guard Tyler Steen.
  • George emphasised the need for officials to strictly enforce rules on such plays, ensuring all offensive movements are legal.
  • Other officiating errors highlighted include a missed holding call on Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailaita during a Week 1 game against Dallas.
  • The New Orleans Saints also benefited from a missed call when a backward pass fumble against Arizona was incorrectly ruled incomplete, though this did not affect the game's final result.
