Remember, Rex said this game was just another game.
On the other hand ...
Can see how bad Rex wanted this win. https://t.co/T7qXfgtVM8

Thanks for following along.
The Jets and Bills are both now 5-4 and are tied with the 5-4 Steelers in the AFC wildcard race.
Tonight’s matchup will happen again on January 3rd in Buffalo. Let’s hope we get to see a football game with a playoff spot on the line played in a foot of snow.
Updated
FINAL: Bills 22-17 Jets.
Rex Ryan was 46-50 with the Jets. I guess you could say he has now been responsible for 51 Jet losses.
Fitzpatrick intercepted!
And that does it. Bacarri Rambo intercepts Fitzgerald’s pass down the right sideline.
Bills 22-17 Jets. Bills stopped on 3rd-and-short.
Jets will get the ball back with about 30 seconds left after Buffalo punts it away.
Actually ... 24 seconds. The Jets need to go 70 yards in 24 seconds with no timeouts. Fitzmagic, indeed.
Updated
Two-minute warning: Bills 22-17 Jets.
McCoy has big runs on the last two plays to get the ball out to the 43 yard-line. He now has 113 rushing yards in the game.
Somewhere Chip Kelly weeps. Genius tears, but still he weeps.
Buffalo 22-17 Jets. 2:43 left in the game.
The Bills got a 1st down. I SAID THE BILLS GOT A 1ST DOWN. Really.
Tyrod Taylor hit Watkins on 3rd-and-4. But to mess it up a little bit, Watkins went out of bounds to stop the clock. We’ll give you a C+ on the play, Bills.
My goodness. Jets go for it on 4th-and-7 at the Buffalo 9, needing a TD, but Fitzpatrick’s pass soars over the head of Kellen Davis.
Davis was open, but it didn’t seem like he knew the ball was in the air.
Only one team is going to lose this game, but they both deserve to.
Bills muff punt!
Punter Colton Schmidt dropped the snap and the Jets smother him. Jets ball at the Buffalo 13.
So much Buffalo happening late.
Bills 22-17 Jets. 5:30 left in the game.
Buffalo had 3rd-and-1 and Karlos Williams got stuffed.
The Jets have the last 10 1st downs.
Touchdown, Jets!
Two plays after the great 4th down pass to Decker, Fitzgerald throws an even better one down the seam to Decker again for a touchdown.
Glad I didn’t declare this game over a dozen or so posts back, huh?
22-17. 7:23 left.
Bills 22-10 Jets. 8:19 left in the game.
Facing 4th-and-4, Fitzpatrick throws a nice pass over Eric Decker’s shoulder and into his hands for a 1st down at the Buffalo 34. Things: they are happening.
Updated
Bills 22-10 Jets. 9:19 left in the game.
The Jets got a 1st down on a run by Chris Ivory! It’s the first 1st down by either team in 8 minutes.
Jets get a new set of downs at their own 41.
This is also everyone’s face as they watch these teams attempt to play offense.
Terrified Ryan Fitzpatrick is mesmerizing pic.twitter.com/uOuq4Ewkx2

Bills 22-10 Jets. 10:29 left in the game.
And the Bills come right back with a three-and-out of their own. This is like two heavyweights wailing away on each other, if none of the punches landed.
The Bills also used their final timeout amongst those three plays. Ouch. The clock is their best offensive weapon right now.
Buffalo doesn’t have a 1st down in more than 15 minutes of game time. The Bills took 1:06 off the clock there. This is bordering on pathetic.
Bills 22-10 Jets. 11:35 left in the game.
Annnnnnnnnnnd now the Jets go 3-and-out. Urgency is not a sense they appear to have.
Time is ticking away and neither team has hit 250 yards of total offense yet.
The Patriots average 420 per game, in case anyone was still wondering if they have competition in the AFC East.
Bills 22-10 Jets. 13:21 left in the game.
Buffalo goes 3-and-out and only takes 1:29 off the clock. There’s still plenty of time for Fitzmagic ... or another failed 4th-and-short. I guess we’ll find out.
Bills 22-10. 14:50 left in the game.
The Jets went for it on 4th-and-2 at the 20, throwing it to Brandon Marshall right off the snap, but he was stood up immediately by Ronald Darby.
Bills get the ball back as Marshall gets assistance leaving the field. Todd Bowles is now making the Rex Ryan Face.
End of the 3rd quarter: Buffalo 22-10 Jets
Jets are now down to the Buffalo 20, facing 3rd-and-2.
By the way: QB rushing yards tonight ...
Ryan Fitzpatrick: 24 yards
Tyrod Taylor: 13 yards
Is Fitzpatrick the NFL’s top mobile QB?!?!?!?!
Bills 22-10 Jets. 2:00 left in the 2nd quarter.
Fitzpatrick and Chris Ivory reel off long runs (Fitzpatrick, really!) and the Jets are quickly down to the Buffalo 28.
Rex Ryan is getting that look on his face that Jets fans remember well.
Bills 22-10 Jets. 3:00 left in the 3rd quarter.
Buffalo goes three-and-out and punts the ball away. I guess that time out didn’t help.
The Jets open their next drive at their own 35 after Schmidt’s punt sails out of bounds. This Bills game has taken a turn for the worse/usual for Bills fans.
Bills 22-10 Jets. 4:33 left in the 3rd quarter.
The Bills open their drive at the 20 yard-line and call timeout before running a play as the Jets crowd comes alive.
Bills 22-10 Jets. 4:39 left in the 3rd quarter.
After a long, balanced, 8-play, 80-yard drive, the Jets score on a 14-yard pass to Brandon Marshall.
We have a ballgame. And the best part for the Jets: when you score, you kick-off and therefore can’t fumble.
Karlos Williams joined former Patriots RB Robert Edwards tonight as the only players in NFL history to score a TD in each of their first 6 career games.
Please, Karlos, PLEASE ... never play beach football.
Save this tweet in your drafts. I have a feeling it will come in handy again #jets https://t.co/mKKi0KnME2
— Chris Law (@ChrisLaw) November 13, 2015
Bills 22-3 Jets. 8:46 left in the 3rd quarter
Dan Carpenter makes a 23-yarder to make it a three-score game. The Jets need three scores, which is far more than their current 3 points, for those new to the sport.
Buffalo has 22 points in the last 12 minutes of action/Jet inaction.
Updated
Jets fumble another kickoff return!
The Bills get the ball back ... again ... on another Jets fumble. Buffalo ball at the NYJ 23.
Okay, so NOW maybe the game is over.
Please keep following, though. Pretty please?
Bills 19-3 Jets. 11:15 left in the 3rd quarter.
Karlos Williams scores on a 25-yard pass down the middle from Tyrod Taylor. Williams now has TDs in his first six NFL games.
When this half started, I said the game could be over if the Bills scored. Uhhhh ... I was kidding. Please keep following the liveblog! The game is far from over!

The @nfl games are so boring now that actually, I’m glad I didn’t get the Bills. Boring games, too many flags, too soft!

Bills 12-Jets 3. 13:50 left in the 3rd quarter.
The Bills gain 32 yards on back-to-back passes to tight end Charles Clay to open the half. It seems they remembered at the half that Clay is pretty good and might be worth throwing to.
The second half is underway!
Touchback. The Bills will open the third quarter at their own 20. Any points here at all and the Jet offense is going to need a huge turnaround to have a chance.
The longest play of the first half was an 18-yard pass to Jets fullback Tommy Bohanon.
I mean, Tommy “Big Play” Bohanon.
The Jets have now given up three special teams touchdowns this season.
Special teams coordinator Bobby April is in his first year with the Jets. Also possibly his last year with the Jets.

Red-green colorblindness is part of the War on Christmas!!!
Halftime: Bills 12-3 Jets
Jets returner Zac Stacy hurt his knee on the kick return before the end of the half. The kick return game is not NY’s strong suit this evening.
Bills 12-3 Jets. 00:03 left in the 1st half.
Nice drive by Tyrod Taylor picking up chunks of yardage to get into field goal range. Dan Carpenter hits a 41-yarder to extend Buffalo’s lead.
The Bills will end the half with 116 yards of total offense ... and a 9-point lead. EFFICIENT!
Bills 9-3 Jets. We’re at the 2-minute warning.
Bills have the ball at the NYJ 48.
This whole game should have had a 2-minute warning.
The Bills are now up to their own 43, but Tyrod Taylor is limping noticeably.
Buffalo finally has a competent quarterback and he’ll probably develop chronic knee problems, per the Luck of Buffalo.
Bills 9-3 Jets. 4:50 left in the 2nd quarter.
The Jets responded after that fumbled kick return by going three-and-out. But no fumbling! Buffalo opens their drive at their own 20.
Not to take anything away from the Patriots, but this game is a reminder what a luxury it is for them to have six games every year filled by the likes of the Jets, Bills and Dolphins for the past 15 years. Six semi-bye weeks a season does a team very good.
Bills 9-3 Jets. 5:38 left in the 2nd quarter.
Devin Smith fumbled the kick return and then Duke Williams scooped up the ball and ran it in for a touchdown.
Just when you start to think the Jets aren’t the Jets they remain the Jets.
And just when you think the Bills aren’t the Bills ... their kicker misses the extra point. Yikes. This game is a disaster.
Bills 3-3 Jets. 5:47 left in the 2nd quarter.
Hey, way to capitalize on that interception, Bills! Five yards and then a 47-yard field goal by Dan Carpenter to tie it.
Buffalo should have converted on 3rd-and-5. Sammy Watkins was wide open and dropped a pass that hit him square in the hands.
Corey Graham intercepts Ryan Fitzpatrick. 7:15 left in the 2nd quarter.
Fitzpatrick tried to force one to Brandon Marshall on 3rd-and-18, but Graham pulled down a deflection and returned it to the Jets 34.
For four years, Fitzpatrick interceptions hurt Buffalo. Not anymore.
Guys, the NFL clearly has more important things to worry about than uniform colors *NFL then obsessively fines players for improper shoes*
— Hunter Felt (@HunterFelt) November 13, 2015
“Can I wear a bright pink uniform to honor my mother?” - DeAngelo Williams
“You are being fined all of your money.” - NFL
I’m not concerned about brightly-colored uniforms again next week. The bigger concern is that the NFL expects us to watch a Titans-Jaguars game.
The "Color Rush" uniforms will return next week with equally outrageous jerseys. https://t.co/Shp9sWnLRN pic.twitter.com/OP6u3q3oOp

Jets 3-0 Bills. 10:24 left in the 2nd quarter.
Buffalo is in Jets territory for the first time in the game after a nice, shifty, 1st down run by LeSean McCoy. Bills are threatening to tie this at 3 ... buuuuuuuut no. Tyrod Taylor just got sacked for a big loss at midfield. The Bills are punting again.
That McCoy run went for 12 yards. The entire “drive”? Eleven yards.
Come on, Bills.
Jets 3-0 Bills. 13:30 left in the 2nd quarter.
Ugly drive by the Jets goes three-and-out for a total of minus-1 yard.
This red-and-green game is a disgrace to Christmas so far.
End of the 1st quarter: Jets 3-0 Bills
The Bills just punted it away. Thanks to a sack and a penalty, they had a 4-minute “drive” that netted a total of 9 yards.
Just 41 minutes after kickoff, the first quarter is over. This good be the quickest NFL game ever.
The Jets will honor Rex Ryan by settling for a field goal in the red zone.

After the Fanduel ruling 4/5ths of the ads in this game are just color bars
— Dan Hopper (@DanHopp) November 13, 2015
Jets 3-0 Bills. 4:01 left in the 1st quarter.
New Jets kicker Randy Bullock nails a 29-yard field goal to give New York a lead after their drive sputters. Ryan Fitzpatrick and friend were among the league leaders in red zone efficiency entering this game. It seems they don’t want to be typecast.
Bills 0-0 Jets. 5:30 left in the 1st quarter.
The Jets now have four consecutive 1st downs on four consecutive plays. They’re down to Buffalo’s 13 yard-line.
Updated
The ruling on the field of a 1st down for the Jets stands, even though there doesn’t appear to be any evidence they got a 1st down, but alas ... the Jets pick up a legit 1st down on the very next play with an 18-yard pass to the fullback Bohanon.
Tim Tebow has started to really let himself go.

Bills 0-0 Jets. 6:50 left in the 1st quarter.
The Jets MAY have achieved their first 1st down of the night on a 3rd and 7 pass to Eric Decker. But Rex Ryan is challenging the spot.
He knows the Jets lose a lot of challenges and games here, so it’s a smart move.
Patriots fans unsure whether who to root against when a Rex Ryan coached team faces the Jets. Maybe root for the tie? @DJGalloEtc
— Hunter Felt (@HunterFelt) November 13, 2015
Addendum to previous Jets/Bills tweet: Judging from the early going, a tie is very, very much in play. @DJGalloEtc
— Hunter Felt (@HunterFelt) November 13, 2015
Bills 0-0 Jets. 9:00 left in the 1st quarter.
The Bills are punting again, but they did run four plays! They opened the drive with a 15-yard run by LeSean McCoy -- the game’s first 1st down! -- and then the drive quickly sputtered on the next set of downs.
But we might be warming up!
Bills 0-0 Jets. 12:00 left in the 1st quarter.
We have our third three-and-out of the game in as many tries. The defenses are pitching a perfect game.
The Jets now have 7 total yards for the night on 6 plays.
Bills 0-0 Jets. 13:19 left in the 1st quarter.
The Bills responded to the Jets’ three-and-out with a three-and-out of their own. But they did gain positive yardage on one play, so ... advantage Bills!

Am I allowed to dislike these uniforms if I went to school at Oregon? It's basically our fault these uniforms are around.

Bills 0-0 Jets. 14:41 left in 1st quarter.
Jets went a little hurry-up in their first possession and they quickly went 3-and-out, all on long, incomplete passes down the left sideline.
The Jets are wearing all green and the Bills all red. Christmas starts earlier every year.
Kickoff! The game is underway!
The Jets return the ball to their own 14. That’s not good, but we did get to see a rare kickoff return in football, so that’s ... exciting.
Rex Ryan is about to send IK Enemkpali out as Buffalo’s captain for the coin flip, which is funny because ... he’s a total scrub who broke the Jets quarterback’s jaw with a sucker punch in training camp?
Good one, Rex!
In the buildup for this game, we’ve heard a lot of “must win” talk for both teams. And, sure, a win will help their wildcard chances. But after tonight, both the Jets and Bills play 7 more games ... the Jets only have one team left (Patriots) with a winning record and the Bills only have two teams left (Patriots and Jets).
Both should have many more opportunities to get wins ... or crush their fans hopes and dreams again by losing winnable, late-season games.
NFL Network just reported that Rex Ryan isn’t coming out to the field before the game because “this isn’t about him.” But in doing something out of the ordinary, he’s kind of making it about him. And so continues the career of Rex Ryan.
I think we should all take a moment to stop and reflect on the fact that the Jets, Bills and Raiders are all currently in contention for a playoff spot.
We may tell our grandchildren about 2015.
The NFL Network broadcasters are shocked Rex Ryan has yet to step on the field with less than 30 minutes until kickoff.
I’m confident Rex can prepare for standing still for 3 hours without doing any pregame calisthenics.
While we’re killing time before kickoff, make sure you check out Ray Lewis’ new song, “Can You Stand The Rain.”
I bet you can stand the rain more than listening to this song.
The Bills are 3-1 this season when Tyrod Taylor, LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins all play and 1-3 when they don’t.
All three are active tonight, barring a drunken Bills fan somehow injuring them in pregame warm-ups.
Welcome to the the start of Week 10 in the NFL. This Thursday night game features Rex Ryan returning to New York, although he never left New York, and the Jets are actually in New Jersey.
It’s pretty confusing. Just know that it’s a homecoming.
DJ will be here shortly. In the meantime, read DJ on why Tyrod Taylor has been so good:
Six games in as a starter, Taylor has also displayed what stat heads roll their eyes at, but no less exists: intangibles. Or, as Rex Ryan has said, Taylor has “poise.” He led a comeback against the Titans, he nearly led Buffalo all the way back from a 37-13 fourth quarter deficit versus New England in Week 2. He’s made plays when they need to be made. He’s made Bills fans consider approaching crucial points in games with some positivity instead of their standard mindset of “Let’s see how it all goes wrong this time.” That’s revolutionary.
Taylor has even shown a willingness to be a team leader, addressing the team last week before the Dolphins game. “I just wanted to show them leadership from my position,” Taylor said. “I basically explained some stuff I talked about when I was with the Ravens and just tried to take that winning tradition over. The year we made the run [the to the Super Bowl], everything wasn’t pretty. That’s what I explained to them.”
