NFL star who won Super Bowl with Tom Brady rips into Bill Belichick with "b*******" claim

Recently retired and potential future hall of fame running back LeSean McCoy has harshly criticised New England Patriots legendary head coach Bill Belichick, questioning how much credit he truly deserves for the historic run with Tom Brady.

In their 20 seasons together, Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowl rings - with three of them coming in their last seven seasons before the quarterback made the move to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Since then, the Patriots have failed to truly compete, with Cam Newton replacing Brady in 2020 before Mac Jones was drafted in 2021.

In Tampa, Brady won a seventh championship in his first season, reuniting with Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in an incredible season. They fell in the 2021 playoffs to eventual Super Bowl winners Los Angeles Rams, and have struggled in 2022, but recently defeated the impressive Seattle Seahawks, with many expecting them to make a run in the second-half of the season.

Should the Patriots continue to struggle, questions will be asked on Belichick's legitimacy as being seen as one of, if not, the greatest coach in the sport's history.

McCoy won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020, and had some harsh words for Belichick. He said: "He's had Tom Brady," McCoy said. "If you take away Tom Brady, you know what he is? He's under .500. He's been blessed to have Tom Brady, and now he doesn't have Tom Brady he's like all the other coaches. All good coaches.

"I'm just being honest, people hate for you to be real about Belichick. I think he's a good coach. But all this 'he's the greatest' that's bullc***. I just call it how I see it. I don't see where I give him so much credit. I don't see him developing quarterbacks. The offense, I don't see the team, they don't look the same to me."

Throughout his career, Belichick has had an incredibly impressive 326-160 record (67%), and is 33 wins away from Don Shula's all-time regular season record of being the winningest head coach in NFL history.

Since taking over as starter at the Patriots, Mac Jones impressed in his rookie seasons, with some making the comparisons to Brady. In his second year though, he has performed as one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, with questions being asked on whether he should be benched for rookie Bailey Zappe.

In a stacked quarterback draft next season, the Patriots could consider moving on from Jones, in order to acquire one of the top four quarterback's expected to be drafted highly in Bryce Young (Alabama), CJ Stroud (Ohio State), Will Levis (Kentucky) and Anthony Richardson (Florida).
