The Jacksonville Jaguars are in sole possession of first place in the AFC South after beating the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.
While the standings are still tight in the division with only two games separating first place and last, the Jaguars are the only AFC South team with a winning record through the first six games of the season.
With 12 weeks left and 11 games remaining for each team, here’s how the AFC South currently stands:
- Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-2 (2-1 in division)
- Indianapolis Colts: 3-3 (2-2 in division)
- Houston Texans: 3-3 (1-1 in division)
- Tennessee Titans: 2-4 (0-1 in division)
The Colts are ahead of the Texans for second place thanks to a 31-20 Week 2 win in Houston. Jacksonville won’t play another divisional opponent until the Tennessee Titans come to EverBank Stadium in Week 11.
Here’s how the rest of the NFL standings look (will be updated through the remainder of the week) and how the playoffs would stack up if they started today:
AFC East
- Miami Dolphins: 5-1
- Buffalo Bills: 4-2
- New York Jets: 3-3
- New England Patriots: 1-5
The Dolphins pulled away from the Panthers after a slow start and will stay on top, regardless of the result of a Sunday night game between the Bills and Giants.
AFC North
- Baltimore Ravens: 4-2
- Pittsburgh Steelers: 3-2
- Cleveland Browns: 3-2
- Cincinnati Bengals: 3-3
The NFL’s tightest division is still a traffic jam after the Ravens, Browns, and Bengals all got wins during the Steelers’ bye week.
AFC West
- Kansas City Chiefs: 5-1
- Los Angeles Chargers: 2-2
- Las Vegas Raiders: 3-3
- Denver Broncos: 1-5
The Chiefs continue to pull away. The Chargers will try to stay in striking distance on Monday night when they play the Cowboys.

The Chiefs are undefeated in AFC games, so they’re still ahead of the Dolphins. The Ravens haven’t played an NFC opponent yet, so their 4-2 record puts them in the three seed for now.

- Dallas Cowboys: 3-2
- Washington Commanders: 3-3
- New York Giants: 1-5
After a shocking Eagles loss, the Cowboys have a chance to make up a game on Philadelphia when they play the Chargers on Monday night.
NFC North
- Detroit Lions: 5-1
- Green Bay Packers: 2-3
- Minnesota Vikings: 2-4
- Chicago Bears: 1-5
The Lions have the NFC North’s only winning record and made it better Sunday with another win.
NFC South
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3-2
- Atlanta Falcons: 3-3
- New Orleans Saints: 3-3
- Carolina Panthers: 0-6
Despite a loss to the Lions, the Buccaneers are still on top of an underwhelming NFC South.
NFC West
- San Francisco 49ers: 5-1
- Seattle Seahawks: 3-2
- Los Angeles Rams: 3-3
- Arizona Cardinals: 1-5
The 49ers picked up their first loss of the season, but the Seahawks didn’t make up any ground.
