NFL spring meetings canceled with concerns of coronavirus

Over increasing concerns about the coronavirus, the NFL is the latest sports league to take action. The NBA and NHL have suspended their seasons. Major League Baseball is suspending baseball operations during spring training. College basketball conferences are canceling tournaments and the NCAA Tournament is, as of now, scheduled to go on without fans.

The NFL is not in season and doesn’t have plans as of now to delay the start of the league year and free agency, but it has canceled one event.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the annual spring meeting, scheduled for later in March, has been canceled.

In these meetings, originally scheduled from March 29-April 1, owners would vote on football matters and potential rules changes.

According to Pelissero, those actions will be pushed to May when they hold their next meeting with owners, general managers and coaches.
