NFL sends memo to teams about offseason programs

Just ahead of the official announcement of the 2020 NFL schedule. commissioner Roger Goodell sent out the memo above to all teams. The point of the memo was to remind teams not to engage in speculation or prediction publicly about how the season will run or what possible changes might have to take place.

The memo also emphasized that while the league has put in layers of contingencies for how to run the offseason and the regular season, teams must be prepared to be flexible and willing to make changes, perhaps on the fly.

Hopefully, if everything works going forward with the COVID-19 pandemic, NFL fans will get the season they want without significant hiccups. But no one should be shocked if the 2020 NFL season looks very different than in the past.
