NFL schedule: Jaguars to play two 2020 games in London

The Jacksonville Jaguars have played more games in London than any other franchise in the NFL, with seven appearances at Wembley Stadium since 2013. The Jaguars announced on Tuesday that the team will play back-to-back games in London in the upcoming 2020 NFL season, in an effort to increase the team’s revenue.

The Jaguars have gone 3-4 in London overall, most recently losing 26-3 to the Texans in 2019. The Jaguars noted that its home games against the Steelers and Bears will be played in Jacksonville, which means the Jags will face either the Colts, Texans, Titans, Browns, Lions, or Dolphins in London next season.

According to team president Mark Lamping, the London games will help “bridge the gap” financially until the team completes its planned $2.5 billion Lot J development project.

“For the past seven seasons, our London strategy has been a game-changer. No single approach, including London, will answer the many challenges that are common with any market the size of Jacksonville. However, playing two games in London at Wembley Stadium, where we have outstanding relationships, at least next season and perhaps in future years during construction, will help us bridge the gap between now and when we expect the Lot J development to open.”
