NFL Regional Combine set for March 9

The NFL Regional combine invitational is set to happen on Saturday, March 9 beginning at 7:00 a.m. PT. in Kansas City.

The regional combine is an invite-only event that features 100 or so college football players who were not invited to the primary scouting combine. The event has been moved up to early March to avoid conflicts with Pro Days that are set on college campuses.

Players are tested and evaluated by experienced NFL scouting personnel. Measurements, combine results and videos are available to all NFL teams.

The regional combine is not as noteworthy as the primary scouting combine, although NFL players Johnny Hekker and Adam Thielen were both discovered at the regional combine, so it does merit attention.

Events like this are of particular interest to GM John Schneider and the Seahawks, who have prided themselves on finding late round gems or undrafted free agents, which included Poona Ford last season and Doug Baldwin back in 2011.

Expect the Seahawks to pay close attention to this event to find their next hidden gem.
