A seemingly ho-hum game between a pair of two-win teams turned sour on Sunday when Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a knee injury and needed a cart to leave the field.
Burrow had been having another strong game for his rebuilding Bengals, this time against the Washington Football team on the road.
But a routine dropback had disastrous results, as Burrow got hit high and low at the same time mid-throw. A cart came out quickly to help him off the field and the Bengals wasted little time in declaring him out.
Burrow, the first pick this year and historic LSU passer, received droves of support as he was leaving the field and across the NFL landscape:
