Although the Los Angeles Rams’ season ended in disappointing and heartbreaking fashion, there was no lack of excitement from September to February. Aside from a few blowouts, the Rams played some riveting games against many of the best teams in the NFL – teams like the Saints and Chiefs.
To tie a bow on the season, the NFL picked its 20 best games of 2018. The Rams claimed six spots on the list, including two games in the top four – both wins by Los Angeles.
17. Rams beat Vikings 38-31 in Week 4
15. Rams beat Packers 29-27 in Week 8
12. Saints beat Rams 45-35 in Week 9
8. Patriots beat Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII
4. Rams beat Saints 26-23 in NFC championship
2. Rams beat Chiefs 54-51 in Week 11
It’s somewhat surprising Rams-Chiefs wasn’t the No. 1 game on the list, considering the overwhelmingly positive response it received from fans. Instead, Patriots-Chiefs in the AFC championship claimed the top spot.
Both were thrilling games that came down to the wire, but Rams-Chiefs was a historic matchup that set all kinds of records, all after the game was moved from Mexico City to L.A.
Regardless, it’s clear the Rams had an exciting season, with six of their 19 games ranking in the NFL’s top 20.
