NFL props are sleeping on Bengals’ A.J. Green too

Cincinanti Bengals wideout A.J. Green continues to fly under the radar nationally in an almost inexplicable fashion.

Green was recently dropped from a “superstar club” in favor of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ JuJu Smith-Schuster, which was only an extension of an offseason where he has fallen into the realm of the underrated.

Next up? Green doesn’t even make the list of favorites to lead the NFL in receiving at FanDuel:

  • Julio Jones 6/1
  • DeAndre Hopkins 15/2
  • Mike Evans 12/1
  • Odell Beckham Jr 12/1
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster 13/1
  • Michael Thomas 13/1
  • TY Hilton 13/1
  • Antonio Brown 14/1
  • Davante Adams 14/1

Green has a career-high of 1,426 yards and 1,000-plus in six of his eight seasons, the only exceptions where he missed six or more games, so it’s a little odd (get it?) to not see his name at least on the list.

Upon closer inspection, Green’s hardly in the top 15 on the full list at +2,600.

Hesitation on the national side of things with Green is at least warranted, though. He’s struggled with injuries in two of his past three seasons, is going on 31 at the end of the month and we don’t know how a new offense will spread the ball around, impacting his numbers.

But since 2011, doubting Green has been a silly endeavor. There’s no reason to do so, truly, until he comes up short. And he’s now in a contract year and certainly hears all the doubters, to top it all off.
