The NFL has confirmed Tennessee Titans vs Pittsburgh Steelers has been postponed due to an outbreak of Covid-19 cases.
A statement from the league read: "The Pittsburgh-Tennessee game scheduled for Week 4 will be rescheduled to later this season after one additional Titans player and one personnel member tested positive for COVID-19 today.
"An announcement of the new game date will be made shortly. The decision to postpone the game was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel.
“The Titans facility will remain closed and the team will continue to have no in-person activities until further notice.”
Titans coach Mike Vrabel had already confirmed on Wednesday that some of his players who had contracted the virus were experiencing flu-like symptoms.
“I know there's going to be a lot of questions about the game and about who's to blame and where it started,” said Vrabel.
"Nobody's to blame. We're in a pandemic... This is a very unfortunate situation, but one that we're confident that we will be able to handle safely with the football team and the players' best interests in mind."
The game was initially slated to be played at 6pm UK time (1pm local time) on Sunday in Nashville.
Several positive Covid-19 tests out of Tennessee arrived following Sunday's game against Minnesota Vikings.
Initially, three players and five Titans staff members tested positive, with an additional positive test on Tuesday revealed.
The decision was then taken to postpone the game until Monday or even Tuesday - a day not designated for NFL games.
No Vikings players or staff have tested positive.
The game was expected to have a crucial impact on the AFC play-off landscape, with both sides unbeaten this season at 3-0 and sitting atop of their divisions respectively.
