NFL Playoff Picture: Where the Eagles’ stand in NFC East after win over the Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles are back atop the NFC East standings after a thrilling and frustrating victory over the Redskins on the road.

With the 37-27 win on the road, the Eagles moved to 7-7 on the season, half a game ahead of the Dallas Cowboys for first place.

With week 15 in the NFL almost completed and two weeks remaining in the 2019 regular season, the NFL playoff picture is coming together quickly based on the current NFC standings.

Here is an updated look at the NFC playoff picture and where the Eagles stand.

***
NFC East

1. Philadelphia Eagles 7-7
2. Dallas Cowboys 6-7
3. New York Giants 3-11
4. Washington Redskins 3-11

***
NFC Standings

1. San Francisco 11-2 first place, NFC West, Bye
2. Green Bay Packers 11-3 first place, NFC North, Bye
3. New Orleans Saints 10-3 first place, NFC South
4. Philadelphia Eagles 7-7 first place, NFC East
5. Seahawks 11-3 second place, NFC West
6. Vikings 9-4 second place, NFC North
7. LA Rams 8-5
8. Chicago Bears 7-7
9. Dallas Cowboys 6-7

What it all means:

If the Cowboys lose to the Rams on Sunday, the Eagles would move into sole possession of first place in the division and set up the Eagles to clinch the division title with a win over Dallas at home in Week 16 at Lincoln Financial Field.

If the Eagles were to lose to Dallas in Week 16, Philadelphia would need to beat the Giants and have the Redskins upset the Cowboys on the road in Week 17.
