There could be a new collective bargaining agreement in place soon for the NFL. After the players association with its player leaders met with the league on Tuesday, the proposed CBA is being sent to the players for a league-wide vote.
After meetings concluded Tuesday, neither party would say much other than the meetings had ended. However, early Wednesday morning, the NFLPA tweeted out that the proposal has been sent to all players for a vote.
According to Pro Football Talk, the player rep vote was close. There were 17 votes in favor, 14 against and one abstention.
Now with the player reps having approved the proposal, it will now go out to all the players in the union, which is more than 1,900 players.
If a simple majority votes in favor of the deal, a new CBA will take effect and there will be labor peace for at least another decade.
