NFL players have one week to vote on proposed CBA

Will there be a new collective bargaining agreement in place soon to keep labor peace in the NFL for the next decade? We will know in a little more than a week.

The NFL Players Association has sent ballots to players to vote on the proposed CBA and they have a week to submit their ballot. Voting will be open until 11:59 p.m. ET next Thursday, March 12.

The NFL owners have already approved the proposal and the player reps voted to send it to the players for a vote. A simple majority will ratify the CBA put it in place through 2030.

If approved some things will go into effect immediately. There will be an extra playoff team in each conference. Teams that designate both the franchise and transition tags will have to rescind one in a new CBA.

But it shouldn’t be long until we know whether the agreement is in place.
