Winning your first game as a starting quarterback in the NFL is something worth celebrating.
But the way Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins did so, by taking selfies with fans instead of playing the rest of the game, has not gone down well with his coach.
The Redskins came from behind to beat the Detroit Lions 19-16, with Haskins marching his team down the field to allow Dustin Hopkins hit a game-winning field goal with 16 seconds remaining.
Having seen his team take the lead — and with the defence on the field to defend the lead — Haskins began celebrating with fans on the sideline, taking selfies away from the bench.
However, his day was not yet done.
With Detroit chasing a miracle, quarterback Jeff Driskel threw a pass which was intercepted by Washington's Fabian Moreau.
That gave the Redskins the ball, only needing to kneel to run down the clock, a move traditionally known as the victory formation.
"I was so hyped, I broke a water bottle," Haskins told ESPN after the match.
"I look up and we're in victory [formation]. I thought the game was over with already, but I'll get it next time."
With Haskins indisposed, Case Keenum took the final snap.
"No, I don't laugh at it," Redskins coach Bill Callahan told ESPN after the game.
"I'm happy we won. We'll address that. I'm just pleased we won the game. I just have to find out."
Former Redskins Superbowl-winning quarterback Joe Theismann was just as unimpressed, writing in a tweet: "How do miss the last snap of a game because ur taking selfies. That's unprofessional & wrong."
One of the fans who got a selfie did not seem to mind.
