NFL picks against the spread, Week 4: Who wins Super Bowl rematch between Chiefs and Buccaneers?

That’s more like it! Week 3 was a step in the right direction for our pickers with three going at least .500.

Caroline Darney and Blake Schuster were each 9-7, Prince J. Grimes went 8-8 and Charles Curtis went 5-11. This week won’t be easy though. There’s not a single double-digit spread to choose from, and just three spreads are larger than four points. Here’s a word from the crew:

Prince: That’s more like it.

Charles: Look away.

Caroline: Moving on up!

Dolphins at Bengals (-4)

Prince: Dolphins

Tyreek Hill said he’s coming for Eli Apple. I believe him.

Blake: Bengals

This pick is based on the assumption that Tua isn’t healthy, which, uh, feels like a safe bet.

Charles: Dolphins

I’m actually assuming Tua starts, and that he covers with ease.

Caroline: Dolphins

I know the Bengals got back on track, but the Dolphins have looked great this season.

Vikings at Saints (+3)

Prince: Saints

NO’s offense stinks, but I’ll take their defense to keep things close.

Blake: Saints

Playing in London counts as Primetime Kirk Cousins. Fade the Vikes, take the points.

Charles: Vikings

I will zig where others will zag. Kirk is playing in the morning, East Coast time. That’s got to count for something.

Caroline: Vikings

Kirk Cousins can’t fail when he’s got this super cool mural of him in London.

Jaguars at Eagles (-6.5)

Prince: Jaguars

The Eagles are going to win, but I’ve been impressed with the Jaguars. They’ll make this a game.

Blake: Eagles

The Jags are good, but Philly might be the best team in the NFC.

Charles: Eagles

I’ve gone back and forth a billion times, which screams the points. But I’ll stop overthinking it and back Philly, because they’re just that good.

Caroline: Eagles

Philadelphia…might make the Super Bowl?

Jets at Steelers (-3)

Prince: Jets

Is Mitch still playing quarterback?

Blake: Steelers

If I keep doubling down on the Steelers I’ll be right eventually…right?

Charles: Jets

Caroline: Steelers

My strategy last week worked, but the Steelers can’t go winless the rest of the season, right? RIGHT?

Bears at Giants (-3)

Prince: Bears

Because I have to pick somebody. I really think a push is most likely to happen.

Blake: Giants

Prince thinks he can reverse jinx me by picking my team? Ok, two can play this game.

Charles: Bears

If there’s a game in which Justin Fields’ passing attack comes somewhat alive, it’s this one (says the Giants fan).

Caroline: Giants

The Giants are 2-0 at home ATS this season, so that’s enough of a tie break for me.

Browns at Falcons (+1.5)

Prince: Browns

Rolling with the team that has Nick Chubb and better defense.

Blake: Browns

It’s honestly shocking the Falcons aren’t even getting more than two points.

Charles: Browns

Maybe the easiest pick of the week?

Caroline: Browns

This feels like it should be more than a 1.5 point spread?

Commanders at Cowboys (-3.5)

Prince: Cowboys

If Dallas gets after Carson Wentz the way it just got after Daniel Jones, this will be a long game for Washington.

Blake: Cowboys

Dallas is a fun team to root for once everyone declares them dead. It’s Cooper Rush SZN now.

Charles: Cowboys

I don’t see how Washington covers here.

Caroline: Cowboys

The Dallas defense has been a delight for my fantasy team, and I think they keep Wentz at bay.

Chargers at Texans (+5)

Prince: Chargers

If the Chargers are a little healthier than they were a week ago, they should win this without an issue.

Blake: Chargers

Even if Justin Herbert doesn’t play a down I’m not sure Houston can keep up.

Charles: Chargers

They have to get right, and this is a get-right game for the ages.

Caroline: Chargers

I agree with everything my good friends have said here about the Chargers.

Seahawks at Lions (-4)

Prince: Lions

I’m struggling with this one, but I’ll just roll with the home side because of how much they’ve been able to score.

Blake: Lions

But mostly because they’re the home team in this matchup.

Charles: Lions

It feels a little too obvious, but I’ll back Detroit to run all over the Seahawks.

Caroline: Lions

I still think Detroit is fun this season, so going with the home team.

Titans at Colts (-3.5)

Prince: Colts

The Colts still have issues, but the defense is making plays. That should be the difference here.

Blake: Titans

The Colts may win, but I can’t imagine it’s by more than a field goal.

Charles: Colts

I know the Titans play everyone tight … but I think this is one of those Ryan Tannehill 3-INT games.

Caroline: Colts

Now that Indy has unlocked the automatic touchdown that is Virginia alum Jelani Woods, I like the Colts by a touchdown.

Bills at Ravens (+3)

Prince: Bills

Baltimore’s defense has been too vulnerable for me to believe the Bills can’t cover a field goal.

Blake: Ravens

If Lamar Jackson wants to get paid like a top two quarterback, he’s going to have out-duel a top-two quarterback.

Charles: Bills

Buffalo’s D is elite … but the reason to back the Bills on the road is the way Josh Allen and Co. will dismantle a Ravens defense that’s been uneven so far.

Caroline: Bills

Tough week last week for me, the president of the Buffalo Super Bowl Champions 2022 club, but I think the guys bounce back this week in a HUGE road game.

Cardinals at Panthers (-1.5)

Prince: Cardinals

Kyler Murray > Baker Mayfield

Blake: Cardinals

Can’t wait to take an afternoon nap to this game.

Charles: Cardinals

Why are the Cards underdogs?!?!?!?

Caroline: Cardinals

The Panthers are favored? Someone please explain this to me like I am five.

Patriots at Packers (-9.5)

Prince: Packers

Tough game for Brian Hoyer to take over for the injured Mac Jones.

Blake: Patriots

Winning by 10 is quite the ask for this Green Bay offense.

Charles: Packers

If Mac Jones was playing, I’d feel differently. But it seems like he won’t suit up.

Caroline: Packers

I just don’t know what to expect out of the Pats offense, and that’s a bigger question mark than Green Bay’s offense right now.

Broncos at Raiders (-2.5)

Prince: Broncos

Vegas’ terrible start has flown under the radar thanks to how underwhelming the Broncos have been. No longer will that be the case after this one.

Blake: Broncos

This Raiders club is giving me crazy “Eagles Dream Team” flashbacks. Fading them until proven otherwise.

Charles: Broncos

Two teams that should be better, so I say take the points and assume that the Broncos HAVE to break out at some point. And maybe that point is this week.

Caroline: Raiders

Las Vegas has lost by 13 combined points over the first three weeks, including a 2-point devastating failed comeback last week. That luck has to change at some point, right?

Chiefs at Buccaneers (+1)

Prince: Chiefs

Tampa’s offense can’t keep up with KC right now.

Blake: Chiefs

One point? You’re giving Tom Brady just one point against the Chiefs? Sheeesh.

Charles: Chiefs

Beware the Bucs’ defense, but yeah, I’ll back Kansas City’s offense.

Caroline: Chiefs

Hmm, I almost changed my pick after seeing everyone else go KC, but I’m going to stick with Mahomes and the KC offense.

Rams at 49ers (-1.5)

Prince: Rams

The Rams found a little running game last week. That balance would go a long way in this one.

Blake: Rams

The more talented roster wins out.

Charles: Rams

A little nervous about this one, but sure.

Caroline: Rams

SURE, RAMS. WHY NOT.
