The New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams are both 1-0, and they’re headed for a collision in the most-hyped game of the year. Each team is also approaching the game from different positions. The Rams have spent the week at home, having flown back to the West Coast hours after their opening-day win over the Carolina Panthers. That’s not the case for the Saints, who are practicing on a short week after their Monday Night Football thriller.
Maybe that disparity is what’s convincing experts to give the Rams an edge. Surveying by NFL Pickwatch has the Rams favored to win in 69% of picks from media observers around the league, while just 31% like the Saints’ chances. That’s a big shift from Week 1, when 93% of experts picked the Saints to roll over the Houston Texans.
Whatever the case, the experts’ picks are off to a rough start. 99% of them picked the Panthers to win their Week 2 home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which Carolina lost 20-14. Maybe the Saints will enjoy similar poor luck for the people picking winners and losers.
