NFL odds have some interesting thoughts on Jaguars vs. Bengals in Week 4

The Week 4 game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals always had the feel of something like a no-fly zone.

Both teams are, after all, rebuilding and have been all over the place performance-wise. Jacksonville looked good twice, then got walloped, while Cincinnati has yet to win but has shown some flashes.

Interestingly, the Bengals opened favored by three points at BetMGM, the standard line for a home team. But since, it has moved to just a half-point edge favoring the Bengals — by kickoff it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Bengals as an underdog.

It’s at least a little strange because the visitors needed amazing performances from Gardner Minshew over the first two weeks just to squeak out a 1-1 record before getting humiliated by a fellow rebuilder like Miami, 31-13.

The Bengals have at least been competitive in every game mostly due to Joe Burrow under center, though timely strong sequences by the defense have helped.

Realistically speaking, it’s hard to complain no matter what the line for this game does. For every good thing the Bengals have done, black eyes like line play, missed kicks, odd play-calling and more have held things back.

Sunday indeed feels like a coin flip, though one that doesn’t carry a ton of risk.
