NFL Network to broadcast Texans-Cowboys preseason Week 3 game

NFL Network will be live broadcast 13 preseason games in 2019 and the Houston Texans are featured in one of those contests.

According to a press release from NFL Media, the Texans’ preseason Week 3 match-up at the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, Aug. 24 will be televised live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, starting at 3:00 p.m. It is sandwiched between the Arizona Cardinals vs. Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Chargers, a triple-header.

For fans living in Houston, NFL Media says, “Live preseason games on NFL Network are subject to blackouts in the local markets of the participating teams.” More than likely, Texans fans in and around Houston will have to watch ABC 13 same as with all other preseason games. However, this is a nice opportunity for Texans fans living elsewhere.

The Governor’s Cup is a tradition that the two franchises have endeavored to keep up annually since the Texans’ inaugural game in 2002 versus the Cowboys, and it has mostly been confined to the preseason due to the NFL scheduling formula making it to where the AFC South and NFC East see each other once every four years.

Houston took care of the Cowboys 14-6 in preseason on Aug. 30, 2018 at NRG Stadium. The Texans also bested Dallas when it counted 19-16 in overtime on Oct. 7 as the second win of their nine-game winning streak.
