NFL Network’s top 100 players list is returning for the 2019 season.
This is a list assembled by the players for the players. Each NFL player is asked to vote on the best of the best and they use those votes to assemble the list. On July 22nd they’ll begin their countdown of the 100 best players in the NFL heading into the 2019 season.
The folks at NFL Network sought to tease the upcoming show with a hype-inducing trailer featuring Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. The trailer invites the obvious question of where Mahomes will land on the list. The NFL’s 2018 season MVP is an obvious favorite for the No.1 overall spot on their list, but will he take it? Just the way that other players in the NFL talk about Mahomes is really special.
“He’s done some things this year, that you haven’t ever seen a QB do,” Redskins RB Adrian Peterson said. “When I seen him throw that ball, I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I was like, ‘Who is this kid?'”
That’s coming from a 12 season NFL veteran that has rushed for nearly 13,500 yards during his career. True respect and awe toward Mahomes from one of the best to ever do it.
“He does some crazy stuff,” Broncos RB Philip Lindsay said of Mahomes.
Even the younger players in the league recognize Mahomes’ tremendous talent.
“Yeah, uh, he’s like really good at football,” Titans LT Taylor Lewan said while chuckling. “You get that down?”
Profound statement coming from the Titans franchise left tackle there, but he’s not wrong.
