NFL Network offers pro comparisons for top CBs in the draft

Cornerback remains a top NFL draft priority for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers signed Steven Nelson as a free agent but are still heavily scouting top cornerbacks for the upcoming NFL draft. There are only a handful of guys worthy of a first-round pick so it could come down to which of the top cornerbacks are on the board.

The three big cornerbacks most often talked about in the first round are as follows:

Greedy Williams | LSU

Deandre Baker | Georgia

Byron Murphy | Washington

NFL Network draft analyst Bucky Brooks broke down the stop cornerbacks and offered some player comparisons to current NFL cornerbacks.  You can watch the whole video here.

For Williams, Brooks compared his to New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Brooks compared Baker to Los Angeles Chargers CB Casey Hayward and he looked at Byron Murphy as most similar to Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. Brooks also included former Clemson Trayvon Mullen with Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Fuller as a comparison but he doesn’t seem like a good value pick for the Steelers at No. 20.

If someone told you the Steelers could get one of those NFL cornerbacks this season for a first-round pick, would you take it? Pittsburgh broke a 19-year drought when they drafted Artie Burns in the first round back in 2016 and that pick is looking like a flop. How confident are you in the Steelers evaluating and picking a cornerback again this season?
