NFL Network analyst says Redskins can be ‘sneaky good’ with Case Keenum

The Washington Redskins didn’t make a ton of positive waves with the trade for Case Keenum.

But as always, results on the field will make it all go away.

For NFL Network’s Kay Adams, the right combination with Keenum under center could lead to the Redskins shocking the NFL early next season:

Talk of trading for Antonio Brown aside now that he’s a member of the Oakland Raiders, it all makes sense.

These Redskins, after all, have one of the better offensive lines in football, but the unit simply couldn’t stay healthy last year. Ditto for an emerging defense that features stars up front such as Jonathan Allen.

The key to a shocking start? Finding better talent at wideout instead of crossing the fingers Josh Doctson can pan out. And more importantly, Jay Gruden running a scheme that gets the most out of Keenum like what happened in Minnesota in 2017, not his bust of a year last season in Denver.

It’s a long way of saying the Redskins have some good pieces in place and one or two moves around a stopgap quarterback could have them contending. After all, they did start 6-3 and leading the NFC East last year before falling apart.
