The San Francisco 49ers may not be the only team that moves up for a quarterback. With the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants each reportedly expressing interest in moving down the board, we could see a team move up — and maybe way up — to secure their quarterback of the future.
Because mock drafts shouldn’t be too serious and because I always want mine to be weird in one way or another, I figured I’d give it a try. This mock draft has plenty of fun and funky elements, but the centerpiece is a huge trade, with the New Orleans Saints moving into a spot where they can land their franchise quarterback, who (in my mind) would make them Super Bowl contenders in 2021.
You can expect that, a big trade up from the Baltimore Ravens, a small trade up for the New England Patriots and a few draft prospects who might be sleepers. Here’s our first-round mock draft.
