NFL Minute: Mayock’s comments on Antonio Brown’s personality questions

In a recent post on NFL.com about the Antonio Brown trade, Oakland Raiders general manager Mike Mayock had some interesting comments in regards to the personality questions revolving around the recently acquired receiver.

“I did do a pretty deep dive with some of the Pittsburgh people I know,” said Mayock. “For the majority of his career, could you criticize him for wanting the football more? Sure. But tell me a great wide receiver that doesn’t want the ball, right? So, he’s got some of that in him. But at the end of the day, he was a positive force in that building for a lot of years. Whatever happened last year, happened.”

If that is all Mayock investigated, Tim Benz believes he did not dig deep enough into Brown’s checkered past.

Either that or in Benz’s eyes, the new Raiders’ GM lacks the answers to explain Brown’s bizarre behavior that extends well beyond demands for the ball to be thrown in his direction more often.
