Because of all the attention wide receiver Antonio Brown has received since the Oakland Raiders acquired him from the Pittsburgh Steelers, many have overlooked the teams signing of fellow wideout Tyrell Williams.
Tim Benz believes that is a good thing for Oakland, largely because that is how things will unfurl on the field, too. While Williams does not have the all-around game that Brown’s former teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster does in Pittsburgh, the 27-year-old should benefit greatly from all the attention that gets paid to No. 84.
With 11 receptions of 20-or-more yards in 2018 with the Los Angeles Chargers, Benz thinks that Williams will mesh well with quarterback David Carr’s ability to find the open man down the field. Especially considering the amount of one-on-one coverage he should receive.
