Few players drew more ire from their own fanbase this past season than quarterback Kirk Cousins. After signing a guaranteed contract worth $84 million last offseason, the Minnesota Vikings went from appearing in the NFC Championship Game to missing the playoffs altogether.
To prove how hard the fans have been on him, just last week, Cousins offered to do a memorabilia giveaway on Twitter. The 30-year-old asked fans online what they wanted him to give away.
The responses? Your contract! Your money! Or how about, cap space?
While the contract seems like a disaster at the moment, Cousins did set career-highs for completions, attempts, completion percentage, and touchdowns.
Even though the former Michigan State star will probably be considered an overpaid player until he retires, Tim Benz says fans should not give up on him as a quarterback just yet.
