Many people have deemed Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid heroes and pioneers for what they did and achieved in their collusion lawsuit against the National Football League, which was settled last week.
However, Tim Benz believes what the two accepted was nothing more than a mere pittance from the Roger Goodell and the league just to make the matter disappear.
Benz believes Reid ended up with a contract (and now extension) with the Carolina Panthers because he could contribute more on the field.
For however divisive he and his stance may have been, the former LSU standout’s performance was enough to make it worth keeping him on the roster.
Ultimately, Benz thinks the annoying storyline and the fact that the best Kaepernick could offer on the field was to be a backup quarterback was not worth it for the league and paid him off to go away.
