NFL Minute: Bart Scott’s wild punishment idea for Kraft and Patriots

Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Bart Scott currently co-hosts a mid-day talk show on WFAN in New York City. As expected from a former Raven and New York Jet, Scott has a large predisposition for hating the New England Patriots.

While that is certainly understandable, Scott’s suggestion that the NFL should strip the New England Patriots of their entire 2019 draft because of Robert Kraft’s charge of soliciting prostitution is quite absurd.

The Patriots received hefty fines and were stripped of draft selections for
“Deflategate” and “Spygate”, because the on-field product was deemed to have been compromised. In this situation? Not so much.

If the former Pro Bowler is trying to make a parallel to Penn State and the Jerry Sandusky situation, that is a stretch at best. Not to mention that the NFL would have to prove some type of administrative cover-up between now and April 25. Plus, most of the sanctions levied against the university were lifted before they were completed anyway.

Tim Benz says if the Indianapolis Colts did not lose any picks as a result of Jim Irsay’s arrest a few years back, the Patriots will not suffer the same fate for Kraft’s transgressions.
