NFL media names Raiders among six most improved teams

Fans of teams will often think their team is the most improved. Hope springs eternal and all that. It only really means something when compared to the improvement of other teams. For that, you look to the judgments of seeming objective sources who cover all 32 teams. Such as NFL media’s Marc Sessler.

Sessler put together a list of six teams he deems to be the most improved from last season and the Raiders made the exclusive list.

“New coach Josh McDaniels is set up to win now after Vegas sealed the deal on a shockwave-inducing swap for All-Pro wideout Davante Adams. It cost the Raiders the top of their draft, but acquiring Adams for a first- and second-rounder will prove to be a raging bargain if Derek Carr’s BFF hits the ground running. . . Keelan Cole and Demarcus Robinson will compete for snaps across from Adams.

The signing of quarterback nuisance Chandler Jones prompted the departure of pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue, whose trade to the Colts brought talented young corner Rock Ya-Sin in reverse.”

The unfortunate thing for the Raiders is half of the six teams Sessler names as most improved are from the AFC West.

Both the Chargers and Broncos also made the shortlist.

The Chargers had a big-time offseason, landing the likes of EDGE Khalil Mack, CB JC Jackson, and DT Sebastian Joseph-Day.

While the Broncos, of course, got QB Russell Wilson while stacking talent onto an already talented defense in the form of EDGE Randy Gregory and CB K’Waun Williams.
