NFL Insider Names Three Contenders Who Could Land TE Zach Ertz

After clearing waivers on Friday, three-time Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz has expressed his desires to sign with a Super Bowl contender.

Following his release from the Cardinals earlier this week, speculation has now ramped up predicting where the elite pass-catching talent will call home next.

On Friday, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that potential landing spots include Kansas City, Baltimore and Buffalo.

The Ravens arguably make the most sense following the season-ending injury to Mark Andrews (ankle). Ertz would immediately offer a solid one-two punch with emerging talent Isaiah Likely.

In Kansas City, due to the lack of dependable veteran options outside of Travis Kelce, Ertz would instantly become one of Patrick Mahomes' top weapons alongside exciting rookie Rashee Rice.

While the Bills appear to be a long shot due to the emergence of rookie Dalton Kincaid, one club that is mysteriously missing from Schefter's list is Ertz's former club, the Eagles.

After clearing waivers on Friday, could a reunion with the Eagles be in the future for three-time Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz?

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia needs a pass-catching threat at the tight end position while Dallas Goedert tries to battle his way back from a fractured arm.

Several current Eagles players, highlighted by four-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Lane Johnson, have already begun the recruitment of Ertz via social media.

Despite Ertz's less-than-stellar production of 27 receptions for 187 yards and one touchdown in seven games this season, he would be a valuable addition to an NFL club with championship aspirations.
