NFL great Tony Gonzalez moves his home field to the 90210

March 24--Tony Gonzalez has traded the confines of Orange County for a spot in L.A.

The retired NFL tight end recently paid $7.1 million for a home in Beverly Hills. The move comes roughly nine months after Gonzalez sold a Santa Barbara estate in Huntington Beach for $6.3 million.

Set along a tree-lined street, the double-lot property in the flats area centers on a Traditional-style main house built in 1951. A guest house, a swimming pool, a pool house, lawns and mature trees fill the hedged grounds of about three quarters of an acre.

Retaining the vibe of a bygone era, the roughly 4,050 square feet of interiors feature such details as gold crown molding, ornate chandeliers and ribboned wainscoting and trim. In the den/office, rich wood paneling and a marble fireplace and hearth surround a sea of burnt orange carpeting.

Formal living and dining areas, a family room, five bedrooms and five bathrooms are also within the two-story floor plan.

The home came to market in 2014 for $7.295 million, records show.

Grace Carelli of Sotheby's International Realty and Jerry Jolton of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage were the listing agents. Michelle Graci of Rodeo Realty and Blair Chang of The Agency repped the buyer.

The 40-year-old Gonzalez was a two-sport star at UC Berkeley and before that a standout at Huntington Beach High School. He went on to play 17 seasons in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons, making 14 Pro Bowl teams.

He currently works as an analyst for "NFL Today" on CBS.
