NFL gambler brilliantly bet $89K on the Patriots and Cowboys to win

Alright, look: If you want to throw a bunch of money at both the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys to cover the spread — which I did in our weekly picks — it comes with some risk.

The Pats are a minus-22.5 favorite to beat the New York Jets, and the Dallas Cowboys are at minus-21.5 to beat the tanking Miami Dolphins. Yet the last time this happened in 1987, per Odds Shark, both teams won but didn’t cover.

But what if you could bet on just those two EXTREMELY heavy favorites just to win? That feels like free money, doesn’t it?

That appears to be the mentality from one gambler, who bet $89,000 (!!!!!) on a two-team money-line parlay on the Patriots and Cowboys. The bet would net $4,500:

Weirder thing have happened in the NFL, but I’m going to go ahead and say that’s brilliant, even though it requires having $89,000 at your disposal to bet.

Someone else did the same thing with $1,000, which would only result in a win of $45 … so, um, free expensive dinner!
