NFL free agency: OT Dieugot Joseph visiting Falcons this week

The Falcons have spent most of their offseason fixing up the offensive line. The work continues this week as they host another free agent for a visit.

According to a report by Aaron Wilson at the Houston Chronicle, former Jets offensive tackle Dieugot Joseph is making the rounds and will visit Washington and Atlanta this week.

Joseph (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) played his college ball at Florida International and went undrafted.

The first team to give Joseph a chance was the Bears. He signed on to their practice squad in September of 2017 but was signed by the Ravens just a couple of weeks later. Next, he moved on to the Vikings and then the Jets, who cut him two weeks ago. Joseph hasn’t played in a live game as of yet.

The Falcons’ rotation at OT is mostly set. We know Jake Matthews, Kaleb McGary, Ty Sambrailo, John Wetzel and Matt Gono are going to stick around. If Atlanta signs him, Joseph will have to compete for a roster spot with guys like Lanard Bonner and Jaelin Robinson and Devon Johnson.
