NFL Free Agency 2019: Titans should consider WR Golden Tate

With free agency roughly a month away, the Tennessee Titans have a lot to consider on both sides of the ball.

The team could definitely use some more experience and depth at receiver, as the corps only accounted for seven touchdowns in 2018. Rising star Corey Davis owned half of those, with a total of four.

Wideout Golden Tate could be just what the Titans need to bring a gradually developing passing attack to the next level.

Tate was quietly effective on the Philadelphia offense after he was obtained from Detroit, reeling in 30 receptions for 278 yards and on touchdown. He also took in the game-winning score in the Eagles’ 16-15 victory over the Bears in the NFL Wild Card.

Entering the 11th season of his NFL career, Tate totals 611 receptions for 7,214 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Signing with the Titans would also give Tate the chance to return to his roots, as he’s originally from the Nashville area.

“I was a pretty big fan,” Tate said prior to playing the Titans in 2016. “I went to a couple games. To this day, I still talk about the Music City Miracle here… I always loved the colors.”

Only time will tell if Tate finds himself in two-toned blue as the free agency period approaches in mid-March.
