Free agent running backs usually get little fanfare in this day of the pass-happy NFL. Gone are the days of the three down bell-cow back, now replaced by a committee that deemphasizes star power at the position. There are some interesting names out there on the open market, and with the running back class of the 2019 NFL Draft being fairly weak, free agency could be the perfect outlet for multiple teams.

After seeing Bell sit out the entire 2018 season, expect teams to line up to throw a boatload of cash at the most versatile and gifted running back in football.
Mark Ingram Saints
Ingram isn’t a bruising back, and although he’s pushing 30 years of age, he’s been low on the mileage, as Ingram has only totaled 1,321 carries since 2011. Todd Gurley has been the league four fewer years than Ingram but has just 100 fewer carries.
Tevin Coleman Falcons
Coleman, like Ingram in New Orleans, has benefited from having productive seasons without taking a physical pounding because he had a talented running mate in Devonta Freeman. Coleman only has 528 career carries and 92 receptions in a short amount of time.
Jay Ajayi Eagles
T.J. Yeldon Jaguars
Yeldon could potentially be a starter for the Eagles, and can definitely be a key third down figure after amassing 171 catches in four years with Jacksonville. Yeldon will turn 26 during the 2019 season, he only has 465 carries in his career, meaning he could be the fresh legs the Eagles have been missing.
